Mama on tour with The Cat Empire

Fresh from a kick-ass tour of North America, team Mama Kin is poised to jet-set once more. That’s right folks, get ready, ‘cos Mama Kin is hitting the road with The Cat Empire all over Europe THIS November. We are so thrilled to be joining the lovely Cat boys on the road once more. Can hardly believe it has been a year since our last adventures.

The tour kicks off in Paris (we’re travelling in a motorhome!) and takes us all through Europe from France to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Track us down, come and play, and most of all, tell your friends. Look out:

Here’s wishing you all a magical year ahead. This one is already feeling wonderful, not least because we have exciting news to share:

The Mama and her GeorgeMichael boys are hitting the road with The Waifs for their Temptation Tour.

We can’t tell you how wide we’re grinning at the thought of sharing the stage with those wicked Waifs once more. And there are plenty of dates all across the east coast so we’ll be seeing many of you out there soon.

People get ready…’cos the Mama is coming!

It’s time once again to hit the road with Michael and George for a wild ride of headline shows and festival fun.

We’ve just come back to earth after One Movement in Perth where we collaborated with Raghu Dixit and his band of merry men. We wrote a new song called ‘Walk In My Shoes’ and busted out a new Bollywood stylin’ version of Beat and Holler. Too much fun!

We had a great response to our festival gig and now we can’t wait to get out and play our special headline set for you all. Tickets are rolling out the door, so if you haven’t snapped yours up yet, don’t delay.

First stop is Adelaide with Xavier Rudd at the Thebarton Theatre (October 27) before the Beat and Holler headline tour kicks off at The Vanguard in Sydney on Thursday, October 28. We play the Brass Monkey on Friday,…

Mama Kin Beat and Holler Tour kicks off!

It’s tour time! Can’t wait to get back on the road with George Michael (NOT of the Wham! Variety) and bring to you a full set of favourites.

We kick off with a special show at Perth’s One Movement Music Festival THIS Friday. It’s a great line-up of twilighters including Sarah McLachlan, Paul Kelly and Kate Miller-Heidke. We’re in the Big Top at 8.05pm. Come on down westsiders.

Really looking forward to our songwriting blind date with Raghu Dixit for One Movement too. Hilariously it’s now not such a blind date as we bumped into each other at Perth Airport as he was arriving from India and I was returning from Broome – a fortuitous meeting and good omens for a collaboration I reckon!

Then it’s off to Adelaide for a show with Xavier Rudd (just announced!) on October 27 at the Thebarton Theatre…

Cat Empire Tour + Darwin Launch

It has been a wonderfully crazy and amazing month on planet MK. It’s such a joy and a bit of a relief to finally have the album out there in the world. WAHOO!

Thank you for all the lovely feedback, we are stoked with how the album has been received. It feels good.

Our tour with The Cat Empire kick starts THIS Saturday night at the Amphitheatre as part of the Darwin Festival. All you NT crew come on down to dance under the stars with us! It will be a beautiful way to start the national tour. Darwin holds a special place in our hearts. So this is a blog long overdue.. But I think I have been saving up for this one.  It has been really cool to leak out the announcements of exciting little tidbits as I have been allowed.  Things including Womad, Woodford, Peats Ridge, Mullum Festival the odd spin on Triple J and the love coming our way via the folk at ITUNES by being picked Single of the Week.  This has been an incredible and terrifying process for me.  Writing the songs was easy compared to everything that has come since!  Recording them was a great journey…. But now releasing them and sharing them has bought with it a torrent of challenges that I hadn’t bargained for.
